Martin Dumollard
1862 Cephalometric application

Dumollard was beheaded by guillotine on March 8, 1862 in the public square of Montluel (now Place Colbert) for the murders of at least six young peasant women (and trying unsuccessfully to commit a similar crime with nine other women), during a 10 year span.

You can read Charles Dickens' account of Dumollard's murderous spree and subsequent trial by way of Google books. From his 'All The Year Round', Volume 7- Titled: 'A French Wolf'-
